Donate to help Allie and the Harris family
Allie loves big. She knows no strangers and finds the best in every situation. At 7 years old, she has the purest heart and a special kind of joy. Allie is always smiling, greeting others, passing out compliments, and hugs.
Sadly, Allie was in a tragic accident during the 4th of July parade in Hilliard, Ohio. She is currently hospitalized at Nationwide Children's Hospital. The Harris family would appreciate any financial support you can contribute as they navigate this difficult situation.
100% of the donation (net of modest credit card processing fees) will be directly provided to the Harris Family. All gifts are fully tax deductible.
Should you wish to join in other area fundraisers, we will maintain a list below of upcoming events:
- Flyers Pizza – 20% from all orders on July 13th that mention Allie’s name (on phone or online)
- New Grounds Coffee House – proceeds from the sale of “Allie’s Drink” (frozen hot chocolate)
- SHED Fitness – SHED is hosting a donation fitness class fundraiser benefiting Allie Harris, with 100% of the $25 drop-in proceeds going to her family. Dot's Tots Foundation Fundraising Dinner
All friends, family, and supporters of the organization are invited to participate in this fundraising event on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Everyone is invited to gather at the Rusty Bucket Restaurant and Tavern in Hilliard (3901 Britton Pkwy) for dine-in or pick-up to enjoy lunch, dinner or a snack. On this day, 15% of your bill* accompanied by the certificate below will be donated back to the organization.
The Harris Family will provide periodic updates on Allie that we’ll post below.
July 8th: Allie remains in the ICU with significant trauma to her upper body. She is making slow and steady progress. She will continue to have some days that are worse than others as her little body does what it needs to do in order to heal.
July 10th: Allie continues to take small steps forward with her overall condition. She has some hurdles ahead of her, and will start with her first reconstructive surgery this week. She has wounds and fractures that will take time and intense care to heal. Allie has been moved out of the ICU and is able to sit up and walk, for short periods of time, with assistance. Her personality is showing through during the times that she is awake and alert, and we remain hopeful that she will regain her glowing charm as her body continues to heal.
July 11th: Allie had her first reconstructive surgery today to repair the trauma to the bones around her eye. She is in recovery and doing well.
July 13th: Allie remains in good spirits! She cannot believe that so many people who don’t know her are sending her cards, balloons, and gifts. She feels so special and loved!
After surgery earlier this week she experienced a small complication that required a chest tube be placed. She is stable and her body is otherwise healing as expected. Allie is getting stronger each day. Last night she asked to watch the sunset from the window in the hallway, and soaked in the beauty. She enjoyed seeing the planes in the sky and watching the cars go by.
Allie continues to find the best in every situation. She is talking to her friends about sleepovers and playing with American Girl dolls when she gets better and is back home!
Thank you for your generosity during this immense time of need.
